BACKGROUND
This assignment tasked us with designing a mobile app for a defunct airline company, beginning with interviewing real-life frequent flyers and developing three user personas based off their feedback, which we would then use to design the app with the specifications of these personas in mind.

PROCESS & TECHNIQUE
I eventually chose Eastern Airlines because I was intrigued by their fall from grace as one of the most successful airlines in history after WWII and eventual dissolution in the 90’s. Starting with developing several user personas to help direct my intention, I then mocked up a simplified wireframe in Illustrator before finally going into Figma to develop the UI design.

USER PERSONAS
User personas are an integral way of identifying your target audience when designing an app (or anything, honestly). By interviewing several of my peers and family members, from seasoned entrepreneurs to casual travel junkies, I discovered that their primary reoccurring issue with air travel centered around the actual reason for the trip (those that travelled for business didn’t want to have to go through the effort of looking up their destination over and over, those that traveled for leisure wanted it to be easy as possible to travel to new places, etc.). I decided to tailor the app around three primary reasons for air travel: business, leisure, and family, and making the app as simple and easy for people to use as possible.
WIREFRAME MOCKUP
Once I knew my target audience and the problems I wanted to address, I then began compiling a simplified mockup of my wireframe to better understand the flow between pages and get all of my ducks in a row. Feeling confident, I then moved into Figma, where I would quickly discover that things would get a lot more complicated.
FINAL WIREFRAME
As you can see, I definitely underestimated the amount of pages required for this app in my original mockup, but worked diligently to get everything finalized well before the final deadline. The result was a completed app streamlined for all different types of travelers that makes it extremely easy to book your ticket without having to go through any loopholes.
